How is it decided how many are wounded vs. killed each round and battle?  Any clues?

As I have noticed, generally 50% of your dead will be considered wounded. Less so if your Gairo have been healed in battle.

It would help if deaths were on the stats screen on battle report. There is Loss and Wounded but to know how many are dead we have to subtract Wounded from Loss. From a battle report:

Perseus - Loss 286 / Wounded 218 / (Death 68 24%)
Hephaestus - Loss 530 / Wounded 360 / (Death 170 32%)
Hermes - Loss 218 / Wounded 164 / (Death 54 25%)

Perseus - 0 / 0 / 0 0%
Hephaesteus - 345 / 227 / 118 34%
Hermes - 1127 / 623 / 504 45%
