What does 3m auto wrap services mean?

I have been looking around for an inexpensive auto wrapping service for my car and during my search, I have come across this term 3m auto wrap services or 3m vinyls etc quite a lot. I couldn’t ask the marketing person on the shops as it would make me come off as a noob and that would allow them to charge me unreasonable prices, which is why I turned to the internet. What does this mean? Is it a three-tier service like they have in dealerships? Kindly explain.
